Auckland to Great Barrier Island Ferry

All sailings arrive at Tryphena Wharf which is at the southern end of the island. Having your own transport is highly desirable if you want to make the most of your trip. You may either take your own car, hire a rental car or use a mountain bike (if you want some really good exercise!). Island Navigator – Primary Great Barrier Island vessel
This catamaran has pacific-themed décor with two movie theatres showing recent movies. There are two lounges for reading, snoozing or quiet contemplation. Bench seats run the length of the vessel above the vehicle deck, providing ample opportunities to see dolphins, orca, whales and seabirds and to enjoy the weather and the stunning scenery. A licensed bar/cafe is available serving a selection of hot and cold food and beverages.

Seamaster – Secondary Great Barrier Island vessel
From 27 April till 2 June, the Seamaster will be taking over from the Island Navigator on the Great Barrier Island run. This vessel has a lounge area, and a licensed cafe/bar located on the upper deck with a semi-enclosed seating area.  A selection of hot and cold food and beverages are available for purchase.
