Musicians, bands and performers from all corners of the globe head to New Plymouth, Taranaki, from 16-18 March for WOMAD New Zealand 2012.

With artists hailing from 20 countries – as diverse as Palestine, China, Japan, Senegal, Korea, France, Romania, Burundi, the United States, Ireland, the Solomon Islands and Australia, WOMAD is a truly international festival.

From sensational Senegalese singer Baaba Maal to the spectacular Master Drummers of Burundi; livewire Dobet Gnahore; Gurrumul – the man Rolling Stone Magazine called “Australia’s most important voice”; French globetrotters Lo’Jo; India’s master santoor player Shivkumar Sharma; Romanian funksters Mahala Rai Banda; Spain’s Diego Guerrero y El Solar de Artistas and the UK’s Mad Professor, there are plenty of surprises to discover on the journey through the music of the world.
