Things change at the last minute and with our affordable Cancellation Protection, you can take
comfort in knowing that your fares are protected.
Although you can change your booking right up to 24 hours before the departure time, a lot can
happen in a day, and this is where the Cancellation Protection comes in.
If you purchase Cancellation Protection, and an unforeseen event* occurs within the 24 hour period
prior to your departure time that prevents you from travelling, we will refund you the cost of your
ticket. Claims must be made within a 48 hour period, from 24 hours before the original departure
time, right up to 24 hours after the original departure time.
We may either provide a refund through credit card or to a nominated bank account, or rebook you onto our next available service also.
There is a cost for Cancellation Protection per person, per trip and it will be applied to all trips in your shopping basket.

Terms & Conditions
Cancellation Protection can only be claimed for unforeseen events** that occur less than 24 hours
before the original departure time. Bookings more than 24 hours away can be changed using the
change booking function.
**An unforseen event is one such as illness or injury of yourself or illness, injury or death of an
immediate family member. Force Majeure, which is a circumstance beyond yours or nakedbus.com’s
control, such as war, riot, or crime. This could also cover Acts of God such as a hurricane, flooding,
earthquake, volcanic eruption etc.
Cancellation protection does not cover change of mind or failure to board the bus for any reason
other than force majeure or acts of God.
We require proof of circumstances that prevent travel if you are claiming under Cancellation
Protection. Proof must be in the form of an official letter or documentation from a doctor, police,
lawyer or the council.
Generally, refunds will be given in the form of a credit which you can use towards future trips (you
must use up this credit within 12 months of the original departure date). We may also (at our sole
discretion) provide refunds to your credit card or nominated NZ bank account.
When any person in a group booked together cannot travel, the refund will be pro rata.
Cancellation Protection applies to each passenger for all trips in your shopping basket.
If a booking is changed, Cancellation Protection does not apply to the new changed booking, unless
you purchase Cancellation Protection for the new booking.
You need to contact us either within the 24 hours before the departure time or up to 24 hours after
the original departure time to claim your Cancellation Protection, and provide all proof required for
nakedbus.com to process the request. Claims made outside of this time period will automatically be

As per our normal terms and conditions, cancellation protection does not cover connections from
other transport. For this, you should seek compensation from the other transport provider.
