Buy single tickets instead of a travel pass

Sunday, October 8th, 2006

nakedbus.com passengers are realising that buying single tickets on nakedbus.com services can be much cheaper than buying expensive travel passes. With travel passes from [competitors] and others costing typically $100 or more, it is clear that passengers can get much better value by booking tickets for each sector of the trip as required. If passengers plan their trip ahead, they can pay as low as $1 per sector.

We think that is unbeatable.

Route Map works Again!

Sunday, October 8th, 2006

Hooray! The route map works again. We have moved it off the main server, and now it is working fine :-) Just don’t click it too much or it might break again. Apologies to those who missed it.

We will add our new destinations: Kawerau, Opotiki and Whakatane shortly – you can already book trips to and from these places using the booking form.

Fantastic response to new service

Sunday, October 1st, 2006

We have been delighted by the response to the launch of nakedbus.com. With practically no advertising we have received well over 3,000 hits to the website in the first 48 hours, and it shows no sign of stopping. Visitors are staying and looking around as well – an average of 8 pages on each visit. We are getting an increasing number of return visitors as well.

What is even more exciting is watching the bookings come in. Even though the low cost city to city service has not officially started (our network starts on October 9) we have already had several hundred bookings, when we expected most people to wait and see the service in action.

We do actually have a limited “beta” service running between Auckland, Hamilton and Rotorua, and we are pleased to announce that our very first nakedbus.com travellers travelled on Saturday. The very first passenger was my son, who coincidentally travelled from Auckland to Hamilton on that day. He was proudly wearing his nakedbus.com tee shirt. As the fare was only $1 plus booking fee of 70c, I offered to pay :-) But with an average fare of $10, it’s always a bargain!

Thanks also to those who have given feedback on nakedbus.com’s service. It is great to hear your views. The feedback has been 100% positive so far – but we are more than happy to hear about any problems as well.
