***UPDATE ***
Please note that we are not running any services on Christmas Day.
Services run as normal on other days apart from
which do not run on Public Holidays or weekends.
nakedbus.com® is delighted to announce our latest new route – between Rotorua and Tauranga. We currently run twice daily, both ways in the morning and afternoon (Monday to Friday not public holidays).
All services run via Rotorua Airport, Bayfair and Mt Maunganui, bringing these places into the nakedbus.com® network for the first time.
The service also runs through Te Puke.
What this also means is that customers from Tauranga can connect at Rotorua to our service to Taupo, Ohakune National Park, Whakapapa, Palmerston North and Wellington. Just book two trips – between Tauranga and Rotorua then Rotorua to your destination further south.
Unfortunately you can’t connect on the same day northbound yet – we are working on this.
You can connect to and from Taupo and the Hawkes Bay same day Tauranga to or from Napier – from $2 each way (plus booking fee) – unbeatable!
So our network is growing – check back soon for new additions!
And don’t forget, you can do all of this from one dollar (plus booking fee)!
If you are travelling from Wellington or Auckland, you don’t have to go to the central City to pick up our buses. In Wellington you can catch nakedbus.com® at several stops including Porirua and Paraparaumu. Check the drop down list to find a location near to you,
In Auckland you can pick up our buses in Manukau and Takanini as well.
Just another way nakedbus.com® is more convenient.
Our new University bus stops have been very popular (we stop right outside Auckland and Waikato Universities, also near Massey in Palmerston North and EIT in Taradale).
However it has presented some problems with stops that are in extremely busy locations. If you want to be picked up at one of these stops could you make sure that you look out for the bus and do not move away from the stop. Due to traffic the bus may be a few minutes late so don’t move away from the bus stop.
Please check the exact location of the bus stop on our times and stops page.
Thank you.
Wow, I just made a booking for next weekend from Auckland to Napier, and usually if I booked so late on the [competitor] service it would cost me $66, but I got my ticket from here for $23!! I also booked ahead for November and it cost me only $1!! I’m a Uni student so these are somewhat amazing prices, and I can afford to travel home! Cant wait to use this service, thanks for the low prices!

Sorry, the booking engine is down. We are working on getting it up as soon as possible. Please check back in a few hours.
Update: The booking engine was back up shortly before Midnight. We apologise for the inconvenience.
Well today was the first day of the full service, and we carried plenty of passengers who paid $1 or not much more for their trip.
The launch got coverage on National Radio – on the News and Afternoons with Jim Mora, plus it was picked up by NZPA.
We have had heaps of comments and support from the public. But maybe the funniest was the couple who turned up at the pick up point expecting the bus not to be there – they thought, well we’ve only paid $1.70 so it doesn’t really matter. When it did turn up,.and they found they could travel for $1 plus booking fee, they were so amazed they took pictures of the bus and a somewhat bemused driver.
No doubt they will help to spread the word!
Hooray! The route map works again. We have moved it off the main server, and now it is working fine
Just don’t click it too much or it might break again. Apologies to those who missed it.
We will add our new destinations: Kawerau, Opotiki and Whakatane shortly – you can already book trips to and from these places using the booking form.
