There is duty free shopping for those leaving New Zealand and all those arriving. There is plenty of other shopping available for visitors, including shops such as Airways Florist, Artport, Flying Saucers, Line 7, Rip Curl, Sounds Music, The Sunglasses Hut, Whitcoulls and much more. There are plenty of restaurants and cafes throughout the terminals where you can recharge your batteries when coming off a flight or keep yourself occupied while waiting for a flight. These range from fast food restaurants such as Burger King and McDonald’s to the Blue Bar and Hayama Sushi Bar.

Located on the top floor of the international terminal is the look-out lounge observation area. You have magnificent views of the airfield and all the departing passengers. In this area there are also displays of the aviation pioneer, Jean Batten, and her historic Percival Gull aircraft. The Maritime Magic museum is also located here.
