Background info on Rhythm & Vines

Rhythm and Vines starts at midday on December 31 and runs through to midday on New Year’s Day.

Rhythm and Vines is held in Gisborne, the first city in the world to see the sun each day.

The 24-hour event takes place at Waiohika Estate, a stunning natural outdoor amphitheatre that overlooks vineyards, across the Poverty Bay flats and onto Young Nick’s Head.

4 stages, huge midnight pyrotechnics show, wandering performers, 50-metre waterslide, 5-person hammocks, mud wrestling, 85 flushing toilets.

The first festival held in 2003 attracted 1,800 people. Last year 15,000 tickets sold out in advance.
