How can we offer $1 fares?

26 July 2007

First of all, we have cut our costs. We don’t have expensive bus depots, nor do we have sales people on expense accounts all over the world. We have focused on what you need – reliable comfortable bus transport between New Zealand’s towns and cities at a great price.

Secondly not all our bus fares are $1. Our $1 bus fares are reserved for people who book early. Bus fares start at $1 on every trip (and at least 10% of our bus seats are sold at $1), but most of our bus fares are slightly higher. We do think that whenever you book, you will find our fares are extremely competitive.

Finally, we believe that with our low fares we will attract a whole new market. Think about it – does it still make sense to drive across country when you can travel in comfort on a coach from $1 with nakedbus.com®. We expect many car users to try our service – even some people who flew previously will consider our service.

So remember, our low fares, including the $1 fares, are not an opening special. They are here to stay. So why not check out how much it will cost you to get where you want to go?

All prices are quoted in NZ Dollars.

Where did the idea come from?

26 July 2007

Kiwis are great travellers, but for many years, travelling round our own country has been difficult and expensive. Added to rising petrol prices, we thought there had to be a better way.

So we looked around the world to find that better way, and saw how low cost airlines are operating. Low cost airlines have revolutionised air travel in Europe by throwing out the frills that passengers did not really need. We thought maybe we could do the same here.

So we worked on the concept for 9 months, selecting partners who could share our vision of a friendly bus service at a rock bottom price.

So now, here we are with nakedbus.com® – a revolution in low cost bus travel for New Zealand.

What do we do?

26 July 2007

nakedbus.com® represents a new breed of bus service. Adapting the low cost airline concept, we have stripped out the costs that you don’t need, such as paper tickets, salespeople with expense accounts and large terminals. Instead, we offer comfortable, fast coaches with friendly drivers, and of course, cheap, cheap prices.

Whether you are traveling from Palmerston North to Wellington, Hamilton to Rotorua, Tauranga to Auckland, if you book early enough, you will only pay $1 (plus 70c booking fee). Prices go up closer to the departure date, but they will always be extremely competitive.

To see where we go, click here. Generally our bus services run every day, with more than one trip a day to popular destinations.

nakedbus.com® is a 100% New Zealand owned company, proud to bring a new cost-effective bus travel option to Kiwis.

Why didn’t I get a txt message confirmation?

20 July 2007

if you ordered a txt message when you booked you should receive your txt message within a few seconds. Sometimes this does not happen.

The reasons for this are as follows:

- you may have entered the wrong mobile number when you booked
- there may have been a problem on the mobile network outside our control (e.g. Vodafone / Telecom).

Unfortunately we cannot resend the text message or refund your text message fee in these cases.

Welcome to the new callcentre site!

18 July 2007

From now on all the info you need about nakedbus.com queries should be here. We have two sets of FAQs for you – the one at the top of the page is to answer the most frequently asked questions that you will get. It will also help you to solve passenger queries that require the use of the old callcentre search facility
Eventually the callcentre search will be at the top of the page so you will only need this page open.

As policy changes new items will be added here.

When you have a chance, please familiarise yourself with the contents of this section.

Why is my travel day not showing?

18 July 2007

The trip is either not available for that particular day, or we are revising some journeys and will put them up on the site soon. If the trip does not appear in the search results it is not available for booking at this time.
